According to forecast reports by Forrester Research the B2B electronic commerce will exceed US$2,7 trillion in 2004 with the B2B e-Marketplace steadily gaining in importance.  Currently B2B is making up a large percentage of the e-Marketplace and is expected to grow to over 50% within the next 5 years to make up the major share e-commerce.


The main advantages of B2B are the additional efficiency in conducting business as well as the synchronization of data and business units.  The response time to customer inquiries can be shortened and the market trends are easier to forecast.  In addition to this the supply chain is transparent to all parties involved and can easily be readjusted when required.
